| This painting shows the famous fishing port of Gloucester Massachusetts as it appeared in 1902. The viewer is standing on a street above Eastern Avenue in East Gloucester with Rock Neck in the middle ground. It was here at the end of Rocky Neck where the artists' father was a master shipbuilder and rigger and where he learned to sail.
