This beautifully detailed map was originally created in 1932 "for the benefit of the District Nurse". It includes drawings of significant locations in the area, a brief history of the founding of the town of Tamworth and the surnames of the 1932 residents of all the houses in Tamworth as well as the surrounding towns. One of the mapmaker/artists, Peter Kilham, was a local resident who founded the Droll Yankee birdfeeder company and developed the tubular bird feeder.
Our fine reproduction is available in three formats, 30"x 32", 20"x 21" heavy matte paper and 30"x 32" canvas. All proceeds benefit the Tamworth Community Nurse Association (TCNA), a nonprofit organization funded entirely with private donations and town support, which has provided free community nursing care to all residents of Tamworth since the 1920's. TCNA's purpose is to provide preventative services, promotion of well being as well as care for those who are ill or disabled.
